Perranporth’s award-winning Monkey Tree Holiday Park celebrated their mascot’s sixth birthday with a fun-filled party for guests and staff.
Character Funky Monkey, who has been entertaining children on the Park with dances, games and fun since Summer 2008, hosted a celebration on-site with party dances, games, jelly and ice-cream, a bouncy castle, and, of course, birthday cake for his guests.
“Funky Monkey is a big hit with the children and families who come and stay here,” said Park Manager, Laura Walker. “His birthday party was a great opportunity to thank them for their support and celebrate everything great about holidaying in Cornwall.”
The party was also an opportunity to recognise the achievements of Monkey Tree Holiday Park, where bookings have increased in 2014 by 11% compared with the previous year, giving the park their best Summer in almost five years.
“After the poor weather we had last Summer we had hoped to see an increase in holiday-makers looking to make the most of all that Cornwall has to offer,” continued Miss Walker, “but the growth in visitor numbers has been much greater than we could have hoped for. Funky Monkey has never been so busy!”
Monkey Tree Holiday Park offers holiday homes and camping pitches from a countryside location just outside Perranporth. As well as camping facilities, the Park also runs a packed entertainments calendar throughout the Summer with kids’ clubs, regular appearances from Funky Monkey, cabaret acts and shows for guests.
“This year’s programme has been one of the best,” said Liam Basham, Entertainments Manager, who organised the birthday party celebrations. “Guests have taken every opportunity to join in the fun and have made the season an absolute pleasure. We’re looking forward to welcoming many of them back in 2015.”
The Team is already planning ahead for next season with new holiday homes, fresh entertainment and refurbishments throughout the park.
“The whole Team has contributed to Monkey Tree’s success in recent years,” added Miss Walker, “from the Grounds staff who keep the Park looking so good to the Entertainments Team and the Receptionists. It’s a team effort and Funky Monkey’s party is the perfect way to celebrate with guests.”
