One of Cornwall’s finest exports, comedian Johnny Cowling, is performing at Monkey Tree Holiday Park this October in aid of the Joe Way Appeal and Help for Heroes.
Cowling’s celebrity fans include Jack Whitehall, Ben Elton, Alan Carr, and Paddy McGuinness, who he has supported on tour, as well as Fern Britton, who asked him to perform at her birthday party, but he is also a big hit with the Cornish audience.
“Johnny Cowling is one of the county’s best comedians,” said event organiser, Laura Walker from Monkey Tree Holiday Park. “I’ve seen him on stage loads of times before and love his style of humour mixed with music and mischief! We were delighted when he agreed to perform at the holiday park and look forward to raising lots of money and awareness for the two charities we’re working with.”
The show takes place on Saturday 4th October, starting at 19:30, with guests invited to enjoy a pasty supper as part of their ticket price.
The event’s main charity, the Joe Way Appeal, has a moving and incredibly inspirational little boy at its heart. Joe’s parents, from Newquay, launched the Appeal in 2008 after their brave four-year-old tragically lost his battle with illness and passed away. “In his short life, Joe inspired people all around him with his smiles, bright personality and endless hugs,” said Joe’s dad, Matt Way. “He is continuing to do that with his story and events such as Johnny Cowling’s performance at Monkey Tree is a great way to keep that going.”
Monkey Tree is the ideal venue for comedy performances, with the club house on-site providing space for up to 200 guests within the 56 acre holiday park near Perranporth.
“As well as a live comedy performance, we’re also giving people the opportunity to stay on the park when they come to see Johnny’s show,” added Laura Walker. “There is the usual mix of on-site facilities for guests, including bars and restaurants as well as adventure playgrounds and indoor soft play for children, and we’ve reduced prices by 50% for the two nights, making it easier than ever for people to make a weekend of it and stay over with us.”
All money raised from Johnny Cowling’s October performance will be donated to Help for Heroes through the Joe Way Appeal.
