I love February – it’s one of my favourite months because it’s Valentines’ Day, which means I may get some cards from my friends, and it’s also Pancake Day so I get to play chef in the kitchen! Awesome.
On Valentines’ Day I was very lucky this year – look what came in the post: pretty sparkly cards!
Eeeeek! I know I am a lucky monkey to have such lovely friends – and I miss them all lots.
Liam didn’t get nearly as many cards as me but I felt a bit bad for him so said he could share mine – there were plenty to go round:
He was very jealous 🙂
I hope you had a good Valentines’ Day too – my cards had lots of glitter on them so I keep finding glitter all over my feet, on my face and even in my dinner! It’s very pretty though and I keep accidentally leaving glitter footprints all round the kids’ club… You’ll have to look out for them when you get here.
I have also been baking pancakes because it was Shrove Tuesday on Tuesday 9th February – I used a really easy recipe that Charlie found and made a lovely runny batter but it had a few lumps in it.
I managed to squish out most of the lumps with a wooden spoon then poured some of the batter in a frying pan – the pan was super hot but Liam helped to make sure I didn’t burn myself.
Have you ever tried flipping a pancake in a frying pan? It’s really hard. Most of mine ended up stuck to the ceiling and after I’d flipped them in the air they didn’t come back down….
They turned out alright once we’d peeled them off and put them on plates though and they tasted yummy with banana, chocolate and clotted cream (you can find the recipe here if you love bananas and chocolate as much as I do…).
Next month Monkey Tree Holiday Park opens (yippee!) so Liam and Charlie have been working hard getting everything ready for my friends coming to visit again.
I might need some new trousers as my tummy has got a bit bigger eating all these pancakes with extra clotted cream, but other than that I’m ready and can’t wait til you get here. See you soon!
